The Human Condition

I'm working on a project whose central theme is "The Human Condition". It's a devised piece, and right now I'm in the process of sourcing source material. I'm not going to give too much about the project away (don't want any internet thieves thieving my idears, haha) ... but I will say this, if you have a thought on "The Human Condition" and want to leave me a comment, please do. Any comments that are left will be thrown into the pot of source material, and be used during the rehearsal process - and potentially the final piece as well.

*So please note, if you do leave a comment, you are effectively giving me permission to use your words in my rehearsal process, and possibly as direct dialogue in the final theatre piece as well.

At any rate, if you would like to voice your thoughts, feelings, ideas, etc...on "The Human Condition" please do so!

~Thanks. M

  2. The human "condition" is the most basic element of society. Strip everything else away, birthplace, gender, money, age etc...and we all reduce to a core set of desires. To put it into another framework, the human condition is to humanity what an individual atom is to the periodic table of elements.

By the way - I disagree, in part, with Jefferson above. He left out the other side of human constitution, which we all suffer from in varying degrees: greed, contempt and self-gratification. We are not merely a collection of fragrant rosebuds flitting about the planet...we have aphids and thorns too...

  3. Haha, touche to Jefferson! Though he doesn't say they are the only parts ... but I digress ... they are merely two quotes that speak to the theme in my mind, not that I have any real attachment to either of them other than food for thought ... and you have added ingredients, thanks! :o)

And thanks for your personal input too!
